Identifying IO's in Python

Hi everyone I need some help I need to read the state of the IO pins is there some python programming examples in using analog read and identifying the Pins …I found lots of Raspberry Pi examples but the pinouts are different and identification is as well a direction would be great

Hello,
The giant boards pin names in python are what is on the silkscreen. There are also some with alt names as well. For reference you can see all the bindings here

Yes thank You …I figured that out by trial and error

I am afraid the digitalio stuff is not working for me. If I do this:

import time
import board
import digitalio
print (‘help!’)

Running that gives:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File “Test.py”, line 2 in
import board
File “usr/local/lib…/board.py”, line 80, in
etc…
PD23 = Pin(119)
File “/usr/…libgpiod_pin.py”, line 28, in init
self._chip = gpiod.Chip(“gpiochip0”, gpiod.Chip.OPEN_BY_NAME)
PermissionError: [Errno 13] Permission denied.

Any ideas?

You’ll need to run them as root/sudo.

Thanks. That makes sense.
